My dear Ukrainian people,
Praise Jesus and Mary! I want to greet you from the bottom of my heart. In June 1981, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to me and 5 other people in our village of Medjugorje.

She came to us at a time of great suffering. It was a time when communism was at its height causing earthquakes of nations, deprivation of human dignity and massacre of innocents, including religious and clergy. Communism tried to impose the indoctrination that God does not exist.

She came to us as the Queen of Peace saying that her Son Jesus sent her to help us. The central message of Medjugorje is summed up in Our Lady’s words:
«Peace, peace and only peace. May peace reign in the world; let peace reign in the heart of every person. There must be peace between God and man and between all men.» How much these words resonate with all of us today. The Queen of Peace has come to offer us comfort in our sorrows, encouragement in our despair, and a firm conviction that God truly exists and is with us. God hears our cries; He is our peace.

My dear friends from Ukraine, Our Lady is with you to help you. And she, as in Medjugorje, offers you abundant comfort in your sorrows, encouragement and hope in these dark moments, and a firm assurance that God is truly with you in this trial. Moreover, Our Lady herself is personally committed to each of you. Our Lady’s role is to defend her children in need.

My dear friends, you are not forgotten. There are tens of millions of people around the world following the message and call of the Queen of Peace who are praying and sacrificing for you at this time. Our Lady comforted us so many times in her messages by saying, «I am with you.» My dear friends from Ukraine, Our Blessed Mother is with you in a very special way.

In the name of Jesus and Mary I extend to all of you my spirit of encouragement and comfort. I personally commend Our Lady, Queen of Peace, all the bishops, leaders and the entire Ukrainian people, especially at this time, to give you the strength and hope you need. God bless you.

With love,
Ivan Dragicevic
